This is one of the Denver Skateparks that is truly a gem. This park is a veritable wonderland for skateboards. Curls, ripples, walls, railing and multiple bowls in a variety of sizes will captivate every skater of varying abilities.

The Denver Skatepark is the most extensive on the list, and is easily identified by the red pavement. Skaters should use caution because the red cement can be slick.

You can think of this as a huge skatepark as it offers 60,000 square feet of skate-able terrain. The street course is located on the south side of the park while the entire north side offers challenging bowls. These bowls range from micro to a 7/10 feet kidney. It is great because it has something to offer at every skill level. If you visit the east side, you will discover the recently opened Phase 2 area. Here you can find huge banked hips surrounded by ledges and rails.

The facility is open seven days a week. It opens at 5 a.m. and, with the aid of stadium lights, stays open until 11 p.m. The park has multiple shady areas, a water fountain, bathrooms and street parking.

Split into three sections, this skatepark is a great place to learn some new skills. The east end is the beginner section. A small pyramid and one foot wall, with plenty of space to practice ground tricks, make up the area.
The other two sections make up the other side of the park. They sit at a slight decline, incorporating the natural slope of the lot, which creates a flow through each feature for a fabulous rhythm section.

Smaller street-style features line the perimeter of the park’s larger features. Bowls and half pipes occupy the deep end of the park, in addition to the two pipes divided by a spine for aerials and transfers.

Hyland Hills is open from dawn to dusk; bikes are welcome. The park is open year-round, weather permitting. A pavilion provides shade; bathrooms and water are available near the batting cages, and there is ample parking across the street.

Equipped with stadium lights, the park is an ideal way to spend a late day. The best skaters come out when the kids go home for dinner, but bring your mosquito repellent.
