When visiting Breckenridge in the summer, you will want to spend some time outdoors. These activities and attractions will allow you to do just that.
Fly Fishing
Fly fishing is a popular activity in the summer in Breckenridge. Rainbow, brown, and Native Cutthroat trout are all easy to catch in this region. The Blue River, flowing north to south through the heart of Breckenridge, is a popular place to fish. You can partner with a fly fishing tour group to get the best possible experience.
Peak 8 Fun Park
Imagine riding an Alpine coaster in the trees, playing mini golf on a mountain, or jumping on a super bungee trampoline. At Peak 8 Fun Park (pictured at top), you can do just this.
A highlight of a trip to this park is spending some time in Colorado’s largest human maze. You will also love riding to the top of an 11,059-foot mountain peak on the Colorado SuperChair to see the Continental Divide. While not a full amusement park, Peak 8 Fun Park is a great place to spend a family afternoon.
Whitewater Rafting
Whitewater rafting is one of the more adventurous ways to see Breckenridge. Several companies offer rafting tours of the various rivers in and around Breckenridge. For a technical challenge, the Numbers stretch of the Arkansas River is the best option.
The Blue River, on the other hand, is a simple river that is great for people of all ability levels. First-time rafters typically enjoy the Colorado River. Those with some experience who are not ready for Numbers may want to check Brown’s Canyon.
Country Boy Mine Tour
Unlike other mine tours, the Country Boy Mine Tour is in a historic gold mine. While you visit, you will be able to pan for real gold and slide down a 55-foot ore chute.
You can also meet and pet the resident burros, explore artifacts from the old mining days, and shop in a general store. This attraction has been recommended by the New York Times and the Today Show.

Because of its high elevation, Breckenridge has a very long snow season. This is good news for those who are planning Breckenridge, Colorado travel for the purpose of skiing, but those who want to enjoy the activities of spring and summer will need to plan around the weather.
