Dude Ranch/Country Club Fusion
If you’re looking to get the dude ranch experience while still having the option of hitting the tennis court or stretching out in a yoga class, the C Lazy U Ranch can help you out with that. With 40 guest rooms, the C Lazy U has the facilities to host a small army. Each of the 40 rooms has slightly varying décor of Western and Southwestern styles. This is a result of blending warm gold tones and shades of red accented by exposed wood pillars and ceiling beams with natural green and brown hues.
Being newly remodeled, each room has a number of perks such as iHome docking stations, stocked mini fridges, stone fireplaces and new Beverly Hills mattresses. Though not all the rooms have jetted bath tubs, the Willow, Ranch, Hill, Spring, Evergreen and Crest rooms provide guests this special addition.
The main attraction, in regards to the lodging at C Lazy U Ranch, is the Midnight Trail Lodge. This private villa rental comes with four bedrooms that can accommodate up to 11 people. The Midnight Trail offers Granby visitors all the comforts of home and then some. This unit comes complete with integrated sound system, full gourmet kitchen, fireplace, wet bar, a huge flat screen TV, laundry room and day room.
Outside, lodgers will find a huge patio with a built-in fire pit with a view of the Rockies and a private hot tub area to soak in. If you find time to get out of this exquisite villa, the Ranch offers a number of activities from horseback riding to skiing to white water rafting.
For Nature Lovers
For those who want a little more freedom to explore the Rockies, the North Shore Lodge provides Colorado vacationers with the perfect venue. Situated near the Arapahoe National Forest and Grand Lake, the lodge offers breathtaking views of both the forests and the lake. The location offers more than just scenery, with year-round activities to take part in.
Granby visitors can take advantage of natural beauty with snowmobiles, with 140 miles of trails to explore, coming in both unguided and guided tours. The area also includes miles of creeks, rivers and lakefront fishing spots for the avid fly fisherman to test their trout and salmon fishing skills.
With all the natural areas around, there is almost no limit when it comes to exploring.
When it comes to the rooms, visitors will find them to have a warm and inviting rustic feel with exposed log pillars and sleek wood panel walls. Each room comes with a kitchenette, complete with toaster, microwave, refrigerator, stove, and pots and pans for in-room cooking. The larger rooms come with plush modern style couches, larger kitchen areas and a full fireplace.
Traditional Inn Scene
Staying at a dude ranch or a lodge may not be for everyone. Luckily for those who are looking for a more traditional hotel scene for their Colorado vacation, there is the Inn at Silver Creek. Although it is called an inn, Silver Creek offers Granby vacationers their choice of traditional style hotel rooms, suite style condominiums or loft type guest rooms.
The traditional hotel rooms are, well, like regular hotel rooms. These come in king or twin bed options. The condominium style rooms come with a little more. These rooms come with traditional style pullout couches, comfy sitting chairs, a kitchen or kitchenette, a sitting area, a dining table and the option of a queen size or Murphy bed.
The studio and master suites offer visitors a more “Colorado” style atmosphere with soothing wood paneled walls and full fireplaces, giving it the atmosphere of a lodge. These rooms also come with a kitchen/kitchenette with separate sitting and dining areas and a pull out sofa bed. The rooms have private balconies as well, where visitors can take in the natural beauty of the Granby landscape.
