The Denver West Metro area has a lot to offer for businesses, vacationers and the families who live nearby and are able to take advantage of the attraction at a mile high. If you find yourself in the Lakewood, Colorado area, you’ll find that no matter what type of cuisine is on your list of favorites, you’ll have no trouble finding a dining spot to satisfy your hunger. But, it’s always nice to have a spot that you can always rely on, no matter what takes you out and about.
I was recently in the area of St. Anthony’s Hospital and was looking for a spot to grab lunch. I spotted the 240 Union and drove in. I had been told that the prices were a bit high for a place located in a strip mall, but I decided to take a chance because the location was so convenient for me. I’m glad I trusted my instincts.
Upscale Dining in Lakewood, Colorado
As we walked through the door, I wondered why anyone would use the location of the place as an issue. Once inside, the atmosphere completely surrounds you and the outside distractions are completely blocked out.
I had a hard time choosing between the Lobster Melt priced at $15.00 and the 240 Cheeseburger at $12.00. My companion was having the same problem, so we ordered one of each and traded a bit. I was happy with my choice of the cheeseburger, as was she with her lobster.
The menu is contemporary American mixed with a bit a fun. I understand that their lobster corn dog is popular, but I have to admit that I will probably never order it. The bar seems like the perfect gathering spot to relax with a drink and appetizers with friends and coworkers after a busy day.
Since my visit I’ve mentioned it to friends and have learned that 240 Union is well known for it’s variety of seafood, even though the menu offers other gems to satisfy almost every taste. From burgers and steak to salads and pizza, full and half sized portions can be enjoyed no matter what your appetite.
The lunch is only available on weekdays, but 240 Union serves dinner every night. Brunch is offered on Sunday and I’m looking forward to going one day as a special treat.
240 Union is also the spot to choose if you are planning a private party. Fifteen to thirty guests can gather in the Wine Room for an elegant get together on a small scale. Larger parties for up to 50 guests will enjoy the contemporary and casual atmosphere of The Lakewood Room. From what I’ve heard, the 240 Patio is the place to hold a larger party of up to sixty-five guests in comfort.
Smaller, more intimate parties can be held in the 240 Lounge.
Great locations for dining in Lakewood, Colorado abound, but if you find yourself in the area around the Denver Federal Center, Jefferson County Fairgrounds or Colorado Mills, keep your eyes open for 240 Union – A Creative Grille restaurant.
