When you are on the road, a quiet room with a comfortable bed is really all you need, but when you reach your destination and will be spending a few days enjoying the area, you want a place you can take pleasure in when you have the time to relax. When friends arrived for a vacation in the area, they found lodging in Evergreen and were so delighted with Bears Inn Bed and Breakfast that they invited me to come and check the place out so I’d be able to recommend it when other friends and relatives came to visit.
Vacation Without Leaving the Inn
I obviously wasn’t there when breakfast was served to my friends, but they stated that the delicious gourmet meal that they enjoyed in the Great Room was a romantic, candlelit experience. They had been given the option to breakfast on one of the decks that are kept warm with gas log campfires, but decided that the beautiful views enjoyed outdoors could wait until after the meal.
It’s easy to see why Bears Inn and Breakfast received the 2006 Award of Excellence from the Bed and Breakfast Innkeepers of Colorado. The facility is charming, and unless my friends were an exception, the service is great.
Although the facility was built in 1928, it has undergone upgrades and improvements that only added to the charm without taking away any of the charisma. Somehow, elegance and comfort are able to blend, creating a charming place to relax in this rustic setting with scenic vistas from the deck and the rooms as well.
Three levels of patios and a garden are relaxing areas to sit back and enjoy life. There is a flagstone patio behind the inn, and you can enjoy and the soothing sounds of a waterfall that has recently been added.
Families can stay in comfort in the two bedroom cabin that is on site. It has a full kitchen so that the kids can easily be fed by parents who don’t mind cooking while on vacation.
Each of the 11 guest rooms has a private bath. And there are even warm and cozy robes hanging in the closet so that you can snuggle up to the fire in comfort when you emerge from the claw foot bathtub or return from a soak in the hot tub.
There are a lot of exciting things to do and beautiful places to see when you visit Colorado, but if you enjoy taking time to relax when you travel, it’s nice to be able to do it in the comfort of the place you have chosen for lodging. I hope more of my friends who plan on visiting with me while they vacation in the area follow my recommendation and reserve a spot at the Bears Inn.
I welcome the invitation to spend a day to catch up on each other’s lives on one of the decks with beautiful views of the mountains. Even if the weather is bad, the Great Room offers an original rock fireplace with plenty of room for lounging.
My friends enjoyed their stay, and visiting with them at the Bears Inn and Breakfast was like a mini vacation for me. Although they only serve breakfast, it’s just a short stroll to a restaurant that is right next door. I’m thinking of planning a stay-cation and booking lodging in Evergreen now that I have had the opportunity to visit the Bears Inn.
